Picking the right kind of video to promote your company and best reflect your values and message can be daunting if you are new to the field of video marketing. This is where Chiba Video and our many years of brand experience and story telling come in. With 35 years combined knowledge working for clients such as Samsung, Ford, Astra Zeneca to name a few, our focus on the meeting point between brand elevation and cinematic story telling puts you in safe hands in communicating your message.
We work with you in the initial stages of pre-production to brainstorm the project, extracting all the key and seemingly extraneous information that can help us to paint the picture of the style, pace and direction your video will take. Please see below for a typical breakdown of the full creative production process we offer, from concept to delivery.
HOW THE VIDEO PRODUCTION PROCESS WORKS
INITIAL STRATEGY & RESEARCH
We will arrange an initial call with you to discuss the video project in detail - the style of the video you have in mind, the message you are trying to convey, and any references you may have of similar videos out there, and the budget you have in mind. Do not worry if you feel unsure on some of these details, our in-house team will help guide this process offering expert advice on the best form your video should take.
Following this call, we would move forward towards our ‘pitch’ document to you, our creative directors treatment and budget.
The next stage would be producing for you a directors treatment of the ideas discussed and how we will execute them. If there is story and acting involved, this can be a detailed document, or if the video rests on interviews and documentary footage it may be a more a simple document, but the idea of it is to present the creative elements we wish to film to tell your story, and explain how we’ll execute them. This will be accompanied by a budget for that plan.
On sign off of this treatment and budget, we would issue a contract, request a portion of the funds upfront for initial costs, and then move into the Pre-Production phase.
CREATIVE IDEATION AND THE DIRECTORS TREATMENT
PRE-PRODUCTION AND SIGN OFF
This is where we plan your video shoot and includes steps such as storyboarding, casting, location scouting, crewing up and logistics. Again, depending on the complexity of the film, the pre-production process can be quite extensive with sign-off offered to you on multiple elements, or indeed it can be a quite simple process arranging the core elements needed for a shoot. We will constantly assist you through this process and offer our choices up to guide the direction the video will take.
PRODUCTION - THE SHOOT
Shoot day - the exciting bit! We ask that you attend the shoot if you can, as a clients input by the monitor on shoot day is often invaluabe to ensuring the key decisions of the day and any curve balls are collaborated on and signed off in the moment. Depending on the complexity of the shoot, and the budget, we will either have a separate monitor for you to view what is being shot, offer a video feed to your office, or simply have you next to camera viewing clips as they are captured.
POST-PRODUCTION
At Chiba Video we offer all post-reduction services in-house, utilising all the high-end resources of our sister company Chiba Film. This comprises of our talented editors breathing life into your video, the sound mix, any visual effects or animation work required, and the colour grade. We use an 8k Da Vinci based system, allowing the project to be passed between multiple editors and artists over our server ensuring the post-production pipeline is efficient and constantly flowing towards the point where we send over the final video to you.
DELIVERY & AMENDS
Delivery will initially be made via a time-coded video file that will allow you to be able to watch in full and make notes on any specific amends you might want. Amends will be discussed and then implemented and another cut passed on to you for approval. 2 sets of amends are included in all of our packages. After sign-off, the final video will be delivered in a variety of formats, aspect ratios and resolutions to suit your intended output, ranging from widescreen high-quality 4k pro-res, through to square online videos for social media.
The entire process from pre to post-production is undertaken with open communication and consistent sign-offs to enable you to feel in control of the project and to provide a rewarding experience in making a video with us.
